A Non-Prime Wholesale Mortgage Lender Migrates to a Service-Oriented ArchitectureThe client, a leading non-prime wholesale mortgage lender, identified the low rate of pre-qualifications converting to closed loans as a target for improving their overall loan volume. To increase the conversion rate, the client set a goal of improving response time to broker requests for mortgage pre-qualifications from hours or days to minutes or seconds. The goal required significant additions to the client’s technical infrastructure to support integration with an automated decisioning service provider. The client’s senior management turned to West Pole’s extensive knowledge of mortgage lending processes and technology to provide the integration solution. A Short-Term Solution with Binoculars West Pole leveraged .NET web services to provide portals for the application service provider while limiting the impact to the client’s legacy applications and business workflow. The integration solution was designed and developed with the client’s future in mind—it will quickly adapt as the client migrates from their legacy systems to a full service-oriented architecture. Better Workflow through Automation West Pole provided the client with the means to reduce their processing and underwriting overhead by seamlessly importing vendor data into their legacy systems while also improving their existing workflow. As a result, each processor and underwriter is able to handle a larger volume of mortgage funding requests. The solution reduced both the manual underwriting effort required for each loan, and the duplication of data entry previously required to move to the next step in the workflow. |
